The 'new-tech-age' dreaded question by all printers... " are my cards going to print like what I see on my monitor?" The answer is "No". As printers we know that color matching isn't that simple... but most clients don't. If that is the case.. the next is always.. "how can i get them to print like what I see on my monitor?" Again you can't (most of the time). Primary reason why your cards will never look "exactly" like what you see on your monitor is because monitors show us colors in RGB format, has a light source, and all monitors calibrations are different. Offset printing is done in CMYK process colors and on paper which has no light source. In addition the type of paper you print on will also make a difference to how the colors appear.. coated, uncoated, bright white... not so white... and so on. So the question arises how can we approximate what we see on our monitors and ensure that is what we get? Good question. We'll try to help.

Step 1. If you don't own Adobe Photoshop.. color calibration of your monitor is difficult. Adobe photoshop is the only program used by designers that can show colors accurately on screen. It is the leader in the graphics industry in manipulating images and color (a good monitor helps.. like an Apple Display, Sony, NEC). Quark, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw are not the best in showing colors... especially Quark.

Step 2. Download our calibration postcard file from us and email us your mailing address so we can snail mail you the printed postcard. Once you receive the printed postcard, pull up the digital file sent to you in a photo editing program that you use. Now change the settings on your monitor to make the postcard on your screen look as close as possible to the printed sample. Now you have calibrated your monitor to our printing process and know that what you see on your monitor should print +/- 5-10%. If you have printed cards with us already... or have samples of our printed business card. Then download the file off our website and calibrate your monitor in the same way.

Last but not least.. we are here to help you. So if you have any setup questions... call or email us. We want you to be happy with your cards the first time they are printed.
